Mount Grace Priory
Set in woodlands at the foot of the Cleveland Hills on the north western edge of the North York Moors, Mount Grace Priory is England's best preserved Carthusian monastery.

The crumbling masonry and open grassland have also become home to a collection of wildlife. Catch a glimpse of the famous priory stoats which inhabit the passages under Mount Grace and are probably the best-known colony in Britain.

Owned by the National Trust, it is run and maintained by English Heritage, with free entry for members of either organisation. Mount Grace Priory is perfect for a relaxing and peaceful day out in Yorkshire.
